A facelift? With no surgery, no toxic fillers, and no downtime?
After seeing the results of this organic, non-invasive treatment, I am even more of an advocate for natural, age-combating remedies.
What is a PRP Facelift? “Platelet rich plasma” treatment is derived from your own blood using a specialized centrifuge to separate the growth factors, platelets and healing components of your blood.
Your blood is injected back into your tissues and in less an three months, the tissues begin to heal as collagen begins to regrow.
This treatment is relatively safe, however I can not stress enough the importance of consulting with a physician who specializes in stem cell therapy and PRP.
Below is my experience at Holistique Naturopathic Medical Center in Bellevue, Washington with Dr. Nooshin Darvish.
Prior
I was interested in this treatment because I desire a natural look and a natural procedure to preserve my skin’s collagen and combat the fine lines around my eyes and forehead, as well as add volume to my cheeks.
I met with Dr. Darvish over a month prior to my appointment. She explained that my blood needed to be in the best possible condition to be injected back into my skin.
Dr. Darvish was incredibly thorough; it was a true medical consultation complete with a blood work order and a strict diet that consisted of fruit, vegetables and no red meat or chicken. For 30 days there would be no alcohol, no sugar, and a day prior to the appointment I would eat completely vegan.
As the appointment drew closer I noticed that I was sleeping better, feeling healthier and felt prepared for my facelift.
During
The staff at Holistique made sure I was prepared and comfortable. After drawing my blood, they used a centrifuge to separate the red blood cells and plasma.
Using special Ozone soap, they prepped my skin to ensure it was as sterile as possible for the treatment.
Numbing about 30 minutes prior, the injections were practically painless. I was sensitive to the micro-needling after the injections, however I feel this is one of the most important aspects in the facial to smooth the skin.
Dr. Darvish shared that I was to stay out of the sun, use SPF and be gentle with my skin for the next few days. She prepared me for the possibility my skin might peel or flake a little and be swollen.
Post
Day 1: I was fairly swollen and my skin was understandably inflamed at the injection sites. It was not painful at all after the appointment. I went directly home to rest.
Day 2: My face looked and felt sunburnt, but the inflammation had gone down significantly. My lips were still swollen and my cheeks felt full, however these are the locations I wanted more volume. You could still slightly see the injection sites.
Day 3: I looked slightly sunburnt but my skin was visually much smoother, especially with the micro-needling effects. I noticed my fine lines around my eyes were diminishing.
Week 1: The fine lines around my forehead and eyes were noticeably diminished. The swelling was completely gone and my skin was remarkably smooth with my pores smaller.
Month 1: My skin was smooth and I felt my cheeks looked more full, along with my lips.
Month 2: My skin is looking vibrant! My makeup goes on more smoothly and my fine lines are practicably non-existent where Dr. Darvish injected.
I am looking forward to continue to seeing the results!
Please visits back in October, 2019 where I will do a follow-up article and video to share the yearlong results.
