It’s called the “The Country Club for Gearheads”.
The Shop stores every marque and vehicle from Ferrari to Chevy, Lamborghini to Ducati in it’s 55,000 square foot venue.
We call it a playground for Car Enthusiasts. The reason is because it has not only the practical qualities like wash bays, detailing services, lifts you can reserve… it has the community aspect that is most important.
The Shop welcomes any vehicle and anyone, and you are able to see people engaging about their automobile and passion. As a woman, we love that you don’t have to be (or pretend to be) super knowledgable about cars. It’s a fun atmosphere that encourages people to get together and learn.
They host classes, and have a saying “you wrench, we wrench, or we can teach you how to wrench”, and have a resident welder who will drop his blow torch to answer any questions you have.
Of course, as you can see in the video, we were a little excited about the restaurant and wine selection at Derby, the restaurant located in The Shop. You are able to grab a cocktail and food while looking thorough the glass wall into the storage. The Debry is open to the public and they also have a roped section in front where you may walk into the garage area for a closer peek even if you are not a member.
“The Country Club” aspect is referring to the membership perks. When you’re a social or founder member (storing your vehicle), you have access to business rooms, a lounge, a race car simulator and a speakeasy cigar and card room.
Matt Bell, the founder of The Shop, shared that almost one third of the members are female and added that women are more than welcome, as we are great at bringing people together as a community.
Whether you are in need of storage or inspiration as a car enthusiast, feel free to check out The Shop and get both, all while enjoying a glass of wine at Derby.
